First look at newly completed house

This amazing house is newly completed and the image above was snapped on a recent site visit. We are really pleased with how it has turned out.

The owners wanted to replace a tired, old bungalow which was set in an idyllic spot in the Lancashire countryside. We developed a unique design for their new house giving them views out over rolling hills and a strong connection between the living space and the outdoors.

To make the most of the views, the plan has been turned upside down with the lounge and master bedroom on the first floor.  The stone “battered” walls give the house its strong identity and enclose a terrace at first floor level. The owner is a dry stone waller and the battered walls are a nod to his expertise in that craft. It means they taper in as they increase in height.

A video above gives you a walk through the whole design.
