Preston Council have given the green light for our design which gives a contemporary twist to a newly purchased house.
Immediately upon purchase of their property, a couple approached Stanton Andrews Architects and asked us to address several concerns they had with their new buy. The inside was dark and pokey and the low roof of the old extension took light from the interior and also didn’t provide easy access to the outside. We listened to our clients and worked with planners to create a concept of how the house could work.
The existing lean-to will be replaced with a smart glass extension, to better connect the house and garden. The use of zinc cladding and thin aluminium window frames gives a light touch which lessens the space between garden and house.
The layout internally will be updated and remodelled to a more contemporary, open plan, family living environment and the previously dark interiors will be flooded with natural light.
