We are pleased to see the completion of this house featuring a double height hall, open plan living and windows that make the most of its view.
The house now boasts a new multi-function family room including kitchen, dining and family sitting areas on either side. A small front extension with large sliding glazed doors provide views across open fields to the south and allows the room to open directly onto the terrace and garden. Exterior walls are faced in traditional stone which is carried through into the house creating an inside/outside quality to the space.Materials were selected to reflect the original house and its setting, whilst detailing allowed for a contemporary twist.
Detailed computer modelling was used throughout the design process to help explore options and to fully understand how the house would really look and feel. This sympathetic but contemporary approach is a common feature of Stanton Andrews’ work.
